THE WINERY
My belief is that wine is made in the vineyard, but in the winery we have to work hard and use the right technologies to get the most out of the grapes.
Our careful zoning of the vines has led to the production of grapes which deserve all the care and respect the GagiaBlue brand stands for with consumers that we dedicate to them in the winery.
Right from the beginning, I wanted GagiaBlu to be open to guests.
My main goal is for our guests to get to know us as we are, without filters. Bringing guests ‘home’ means a lot to me, as it allows me to give concrete expression to who we are and what we believe in.
Our hospitality is simple, but has the power to give our guests a unique experience, the kind you get when GagiaBlu opens not only its doors to them, but also its heart.
THE GAGIABLU WINEMAKING PHILOSOPHY
Right from our foundation, we have always felt strongly that our wines should be a genuine and easily recognizable expression of the extraordinary terroir we live in. It enjoys a unique pedoclimate thanks not only to its vicinity to the coast (just 5.5mi/9km away) but also the influence of a number of hills and mountains, not least of which is Monte Amiata, which rises up behind us.
With this approach in mind, we selected two assistants: agronomist Domenico Saraceno and oenologist Gabriele Gadenz, both of whom have always worked in line with our winemaking philosophy.
Our 8 hectares of vineyards host four grape varieties that express the character of this fringe of Maremma: Sangiovese, Merlot, Ciliegiolo and Vermentino.
We aim to boost the expressive potential of our wines so they can give excellent accounts of themselves through their elegance and drinkability.
